2024 Inductees:
Dwight Baker
Baker won the state diving title in 2009. It was one of many trips he made to the state meet during his high school career. He was also named an All-American high school diver. In college at Drury University, he was a three-time All-American and was part of four NCAA championship teams. He set several Great Lake Valley Conference diving records while at Drury.
Mark Christensen
Mark was a four-time All-State golfer and won the state individual title in 1997. He finished in the top five at the state meet four times. He was a two-time golf All-American at Wisconsin Eau Claire and is a member of the WIAC All-Century Team. He also won the Minnesota State Publinks tourney (2002) and the Minnesota State Match play tournament (2003).
Denise Green
Green coached the Elk River Boys' Swimming and Diving team for 40 years, retiring after the 2024 season. She led the Elks to four section and eight conference championships, while producing four athletes that were considered for All-American status. She served as a Minnesota State High School League official for 30 years and also coached the Elk River Girls' Swimming and Diving team for two years.
Jake Jaremko
Jake topped his brilliant Elk River hockey career by being named Minnesota's Mr. Hockey in 2015. He is still one of the school's all-time leading scorers. He went on to play hockey at Minnesota State University where he helped the Mavericks win several regular season and playoff titles. He was on the team that advanced to the Frozen Four in 2021. His Florida Everblades team won the ECHL Kelly Cup championship in 2022.
Ryan Ness
A three-sport athlete at Elk River, Ness excelled in soccer, basketball and tennis. Twice he made the All-State soccer team and was named to the All-Tournament team. He also made the All-State tennis team twice and won 123 matches during his high school career. He is a member of the Elk River Tennis Hall of Fame. He was a two-time All-MIAC pick for the Bethel soccer team and is among the school's all-time leading scorers.
Erin Olson
Olson left her mark on the Elk River High School athletic program, despite attending the school for just her junior and senior years. She earned letters in soccer, hockey, track and softball and was one of the very few athletes to play two sports in one season (track, softball). She was the 2005 Athena award winner and scored two goals in the title game when the Elks girls' hockey team won the state championship in 2004. Olson was a four year regular for the UMD women's hockey team, helping the Bulldogs win the national title in 2008. She also threw the shot put and discus at UMD for two years.
Abi Scheid
Abi Scheid is the leading scorer in Elk River girls' basketball history with 1,992 points. She was named to the All-Metro team and was one of five finalists for the Miss Basketball award. She was ranked No. 66 nationally among all girl high school players her senior year. She was the Elks Athena Award winner in 2016. She went on to play four years in the Big Ten for Northwestern University, scoring 1,146 points in her career. She was among the nation's best three-point shooters and named to the All-Big Ten team her senior year. She was a three-time Academic All-American. Her Northwestern team won the Big Ten title in 2020.
